Pat Perez Featured On theCHIVE Podcast

AUSTIN, Texas — PGA Tour veteran Pat Perez was officially the 32nd guest invited on to the official podcast for theCHIVE and after a spirited performance with hosts John Resig and Bob Phillipp, one could get the notion that things are just starting to warm up for this crew.

Perez’s appearance was recorded mid-August in his hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona and will officially be available for download at midnight ET on Thursday August 27th.

theCHIVE—known over the past seven years as “probably the best website in the world”—officially got into the podcast universe in late January and over the past eight months has become one of the biggest and best in the business.

Initially ranked eighth via iTunes upon its release, theCHIVE Podcast is averaging a few hundred thousand downloads-per-week; by way of a natural flow between Resig and Phillipp and a vibe that fits the flow of their lifestyle brand—as well as a who’s who of big name guests.

Within weeks, theCHIVE welcomed entrepreneur, Dallas Mavericks owner and fellow Indiana native Mark Cuban on for a sit-down, while recent guests have included former Texas governor Rick Perry, “Lone Survivor” author and former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, WWE superstar John Cena, Marc Maron of the popular WTF podcast as well as fellow comedians Jim Gaffigan, Nick Swardson, Adam Corolla and roastmaster Jeff Ross

Prior to Perez’s sit-down with theCHIVE, the podcast’s most-recent guest was actor Joel Murray; brother of Chive Nation’s unofficial mascot; the legendary Bill Murray.

Perez, Resig and Phillipp talked about life as a professional golfer, how the PGA Tour needs to reach millennials, all things Tiger Woods, the sensation that is yacht rock, Perez’s knack for social media, as well as the friendship that has been brewing between Perez and theCHIVE over the past year; fueled by a love classic 80′s movies and bad music.

The Double P episode of theCHIVE’s podcast is available on iTunes, as well as or through Podcast One at 12:00 a.m. ET on Thursday—either via streaming or download—for those without early morning tee times.

Perez will get his first listen of the episode late Thursday as he’s set to tee off at 7:42 a.m. ET at Plainfield Country Club for the opening round of The Barclays and the FedExCup Playoffs.

Perez entered this week 54th in the current FedExCup standings, which currently has him through the first three rounds as the top 125 play the Barclays, the top 100 make next week’s Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston and top 75 are in for the BMW Championship in Chicago late September.
