T50th Finish At Arnold Palmer Invitational

A Saturday round of 70 had Pat Perez in good position to make a run on Sunday, but a plus-three stretch to close out the final round spoiled what looked to be a strong finish at the 2013 Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Orlando.

Perez opened the week with a one-under round of 71, but struggled on Friday, carding three doubles and one bogey, though salvaged with three late, timely birdies, who ended the day at 75 and kept Perez one stroke from missing the cut.

A third round 70 was Perez’s best stretch of the week, bogey-free and par-heavy, with birdies on twelve and sixteen, getting him to two-under on the day and back to even on the event. Sunday’s plus-three finish after bogeys on 16, 17 and 18 was the difference between T34th and T50th, where Perez ended the week.

Next up, a return to the Lone Star state, for the Shell Houston Open and next week’s Valero Texas Open in San Antonio.
