Perez Back In Action At Congressional This Week

After a three-week layoff, Pat Perez is back in action this week at the Quicken Loans National in Bethesda, Maryland. Perez enters this week 56th in the FedExCup standings and 113th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

The thirteen-year veteran has played 18 events on the season and carded three Top 10 finishes over that span—setting a personal-best of 14 consecutive cuts, ending late May at the Crown Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

Perez has played one event since, finishing T69th at the Memorial, as well as a 36-hole qualifier the following Monday, missing an invite to the US Open by one stroke.

Perez’ history at Congressional dates back to his rookie season in 2002, when the event was knows at The International. He earned a DQ in his inaugural showing and missed the cut the next two seasons.

Perez didn’t play the event in 2005 or 2006, but showed up strong in 2007 with his best finish to date—T3rd after going 71-70-69-67 on the week. A year later, T12th and a 71-67-67-68 scorecard.

Perez missed the cut in 2009 and has since been average at what was known as the AT&T National, going T62nd (2010), T38th (2011), T29th (2012) and 76th (2013).

Tee times have been announced for this week’s event, with Perez drawing a (seemingly) favorable late-early draw.

Perez is paired with Aaron Baddeley and Brice Garnett, going off No. 10 at 1:24 p.m. ET on Thursday, followed by an 8:24 a.m. ET tee time on Friday
