Perez: Tee Times For Wells Fargo Championship

Pat Perez is back in a action this week at the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina. It marks the 11th time Perez has played the event since its inception in 2003.

Perez has made the cut at the former Wachovia Championship and Quail Hollow Championship six times. His best finish was T6th in 2011, where he went 67-65-70-75 over the four-day span. Next strongest outing; T12th in 2008.

Outside of that, T44th (2014), T32nd (2013), T65th (2009) and T21st (2004), with missed cuts coming in 2012, 2010, 2007, 2005 and 2003. Perez didn’t play the event in 2006 due to injury.

PGA Tour’s Rob Bolton talked up Perez in his fantasy advice for the Wells Fargo Championship: “Encouragingly sustaining pretty good form since the conclusion of the West Coast Swing where he usually matters most in our world. Three top 20s in his last four starts and a T26 at Harbour Town. Ample knowledge of Quail Hollow where he’s making his 12th start. Personal-best T6 in 2011 is his lone top 10 here.”

Perez rolls into this year’s event on the heels of some solid golf as of late. Perez has made four cuts in a row (and 12 of his past 13), finishing T20th at the Valero Texas Open, T11th at the Shell Houston Open, T26th at the RBC Heritage and T17th at last week’s PLAYERS Championship—where he was ranked first in greens-in-regulation and fairways hit after 54 holes.

Perez is currently ranked 54th in the FedExCup standings, 126th in the Official World Golf Rankings and has a scoring average of 70.966.

Tee times have been announced for the first two rounds of the Wells Fargo Championship, where Perez is paired with Blake Adams and John Peterson. Thursday’s tee time is 7:10 a.m. ET off of No. 10 and Friday’s go-time is 12:30 p.m. ET off of No. 1.
