Perez In Vegas For Shriners Event At Summerlin

PGA Tour professional Pat Perez is back in action this week for the Shriners Hospital For Children Open at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nevada. Perez is coming off a missed cut at the Frys.com Open in Napa, California—struggling on Thursday, but bouncing back with a five-birdie effort on Friday.

Perez is no stranger to this Vegas-fueled event, playing the Invensys Classic as a rookie back in 2002, but missing the cut. From there, another missed cut at the Las Vegas Invitational in 2003.

Dubbed the Michelin Championship in 2004 and 2005, Perez finished T23rd and missed the cut, respectively.

Perez didn’t play the Frys.com Open in 2006 and in 2007 finished T30th in the Frys.com benefitting Shriners Hospital For Children.

Former NSYNC-er Justin Timberlake lent his name to the cause the next five years, with Perez gaining some ground, going T24th (2008) and T14th (2010), but sitting out in 2009, 2011 and 2012. Most-recently, a missed cut in 2013

Coming off a missed cut in Napa this past weekend, Perez bypassed a return home to Scottsdale and headed directly to Las Vegas, getting in a few rounds at TPC Summerlin.

After a Tuesday event at Shadow Ridge for the Coca-Cola Invitational with a handful of other PGA Tour pros, Perez will put in some work at Summerlin on Wednesday, getting in a practice round and heading back to the Ridge for an extra late-day round.

Thursday’s tee time is set for 7:10 a.m. PT, where he’ll be paired with Trevor Immelman and Jason Kokrak. Friday’s go-time is 12:00 p.m. PT, where Perez and crew will go off of No. 10.

Stay tuned for all the latest from TPC Summerlin and Sin City.
