Perez: Tee Times Announced For The Memorial

Pat Perez is back in Ohio for the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club. This marks the thirteenth time Perez has participated in the event over the years, coming off a T69th finish in 2014.

Perez’s history at Muirfield started slow, but ramped up over the years. His best finish was T8th in 2013, followed by T19th in 2010. Outside of that, T25th (2012), T30th (2011) and T26th (2008). Perez didn’t play the Memorial in 2009 or 2004 and missed five cuts between his rookie season in 2002 and 2007.

After sitting out last week’s Byron Nelson Championship in Dallas, Perez rolls into Dublin just over a week removed from a T5th finish at Colonial; highlighted by a Sunday round of 64. He’s also headed to the Memorial putting as well as he has the past five seasons; currently ranked 44th in strokes gained.

Perez hasn’t finished lower than T26th in his last six starts and is picked again as a “sleeper” this week by PGATour.com’s Rob Bolton

Regarding the track itself, Muirfield Village Golf Club is a 7,392-yard, par 72 built by Jack Nicklaus, with the intent of bringing the PGA Tour to his hometown. The course opened in 1974 and is a favorite amongst Tour pros, while showcasing some bigger-scale events over the years.

Besides the Memorial, “Jack’s Place” hosted the Ryder Cup (1987), Solheim Cup (1998) and President’s Cup (2013), as well as the U.S. Amateur (1992).

Tee times have been announced for Thursday and Friday, with Perez getting the early/late draw. He’ll go off of No. 10 on Thursday at 7:31 a.m. and off of No. 1 on Friday at 12:21 p.m., while paired with Jeff Overton and Gonzalo Fdez-Castano both days.

Perez enters this week ranked 50th in the FedExCup standings and 106th in the Official World Golf Rankings. Aside from being 44th in strokes gained putting, Perez is 33rd in driving accuracy percentage, 71st in greens-in-regulation percentage and 19th in birdie  average.
