Pat Perez’s Ultimate Spotify Yacht Rock Playlist

Whether he starts sporting a captain’s hat on the golf course, time will tell—but PGA Tour player Pat Perez has upped his yacht rock game with the recent creating of a smooth-sailing playlist via music-streaming service Spotify.

Spotify users woke up Saturday to find a new four-and-a-half hour mix, currently boasting 66 songs from artists like Hall & Oates, Player, Christopher Cross, Ambrosia, Kenny Loggins, Paul Davis, The Doobie Brothers and others who dominated the easy-breezy genre.

Stephen Hennessey at Golf Digest recent wrote about Perez’s flair and upgrades to his swing videos shared via social media; having his coach Drew Steckel shoot in slow motion, where Perez layers easy-listening jams that seems to fine the pace and tempo of the swing to perfection.

“We’ll give it to Double P—these beats work pretty well with the timing of the swing, Hennessey wrote weeks back, before the Tour veteran changed genres. Perez abandoned marina rock for hair metal the final two rounds at the Quicken Loans National, where he wrapped T21.

Perez is currently gearing up for the year’s final major; the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. From there, an off-week before trekking back east for the opening round of the Playoffs. Perez is 46th in this week’s FedExCup rankings.
