Perez Plays Sauce Invitational At Grayhawk

Got on board with Ryan Pray and the guys for the Sauce Invitational since I was home this week and not playing the FedEx St. Jude Classic. The event took place in my backyard at Grayhawk Golf Club.

Good times with some old buds like former ASU teammate Darren Angel and the crew, but need to do something about that 1:00pm tee time in mid-June fellas. We were melting out there.

That said, locals should look into this tourney and event next year. Good people and good times. – PP

T8th Finish At Memorial Tournament For Perez

Pat Perez reeled in a T8th finish at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village this past weekend. After an opening round 72 and second round 69, Perez went 72-71 over the weekend.

The T8th place finish marks Perez’s second-best finish of the year, the best being a T7th outing at the Tampa Bay Championship in mid-March and the third top ten of the year after opening with a T9th start at the Sony Open to start the season.

Round Three wound up even, courtesy of four birdies and four bogeys, including a three-hole stretch where Perez birdied three, four and five. On Sunday, a solid par-filled outing, with a few bright spots.

After opening with six pars, Perez birdied the par-five seventh and the par-four thirteenth, but bogeyed the par-four seventeenth in route to a final round 71.

Next up for Perez, an off-week in Scottsdale after a US Open sectional qualifier in Columbus, Ohio at Brookside Golf and Country Club / Lakes Golf and Country Club this Monday.
